John Davis Of Folk Implosion Announces Ten Date NZ Tour
John Davis of Folk Implosion fame is kicking it in Aotearoa this June for a ten-stop tour as John Davis and The Cicadas. The US artist co-founded Folk Implosion with Lou Barlow (Sebadoh, Dinosaur Jr) in 1993, rising to fame after priceless soundtrack features on both Kids and American Beauty. Davis left the group in 2000, and returned to the music scene in 2013. He has since released several albums and has an instrumental EP Gnawing on the Bone out in coming months, featuring cover artwork from our very own Alastair Galbraith (The Rip, Plagal Grind). I could not recommend more setting aside some time to explore John Davis’ self-run website - it is a rabbit hole of hot takes and obscure fun facts you didn’t know you needed. Experience the strange, psych-rock conglomerate that is John Davis and The Cicadas this June / July…
