Caught Live: French For Rabbits Play New Song 'The Overflow' For RNZ

Caught Live: French For Rabbits Play New Song 'The Overflow' For RNZ

C.C. / Tuesday 20th August, 2019 10:34AM

Following a productive first half of 2019, including an extensive US tour, an appearance at SXSW and the international release of their sophomore album The Weight of Melted Snow, French For Rabbits are now in the thick of a four date tour of Aotearoa, wrapping up this Friday in Tāmaki Makaurau. Fronted by the core songwriting team of Brooke Singer and John Fitzgerald, joined by bandmates Ben Lemi, Penelope Esplin and Hikurangi Schaverien-Kaa, the Pōneke group have been road-testing fresh material ahead of recording sessions for their third as yet untitled long-player. French For Rabbits recently swung by Jesse Mulligan's RNZ show and performed brand new tune 'The Overflow' for the occasion – written only three weeks before their national tour commenced and described by Singer as "roughly about anxiety in various ways". Enjoy a first listen to the song below, beautifully recorded by the RNZ crew, and grab yourself a limited cassette edition of The Weight of Melted Snow at their headline event at The Wine Cellar this Friday...

French For Rabbits are playing at Auckland's The Wine Cellar on Friday 23rd August with support from Antony Jeffares (and band), tickets available HERE via UTR.
