David Kilgour & The Heavy Eights Share Single 'Looks Like I'm Running Out' + Video

David Kilgour & The Heavy Eights have unveiled a wave-riding surf clip to accompany their new single 'Looks Like I'm Running Out', the latest song shared from their forthcoming album Bobbie’s A Girl. Starring Canterbury surfer Daisy Thomas, filmed in chilly mid-winter waters on Aotearoa's southern coast, and co-directed by Pat O’Neill and Kilgour himself, the video complements the Dunedin guitar wizard's loping sonics and breezy lyricism to a tee with mesmerising imagery of slow motion surf action. "I’ve always wanted to make a surf video for a song, so when Mac Merge suggested we make a surf video for a song, we did. “Looks like I’m running out” was shot in the middle of winter on the southern coast of New Zealand. Pat suggested getting local surfer Daisy Thomas to feature, and she and her friends kindly agreed. Why Daisy? Well, she is one of NZ’s leading longboarders, and we think she’s all style and makes average surf conditions look pretty cool. Along with Heavy Eights drummer Taane, Pat and I are keen on surfing, and surfing culture in general, so it was a no-brainer. I think Mac may also surf or is at least a closet surfer. Time constraints and winter conditions here in the deep south made for a challenging shoot, so BIG THANKS to Pat, Daisy, Will, Amelia, and also John Mead and Graham McArthur at Video Factory."
