Tami Neilson Announces New Album + Shares Single 'Hey, Bus Driver!'
Tami Neilson is barrelling back into town with an explosive album announcement and its first earth-shaking single 'Hey, Bus Driver!', with a sibling collaboration to boot. Tāmaki Makaurau-based artist and brother Jay Neilson country-rock out on the first tipple from her upcoming album CHICKABOOM!, due out Friday 14th February, with larger than life visuals created by their younger brother Todd Neilson. Tami and Jay stomp, rattle and roll a model town, creating dust storms with the tap of a toe all while Tami Neilson balances a magnificent tower of hair with practised ease. As the all caps and exclamation mark suggests, Neilson wanted the new album to be bold, "I wanted to write an album of punchy little songs, popping firecrackers that, when stripped back to nothing but a guitar, percussion and two voices, would still go boom!".
Catch the musical powerhouse on her Aotearoa tour next month for six intimate headline shows and a spot in the Southern Fork Americana Fest, with stripped back acoustic performances proving the Neilson sound is just as powerful with only a voice and a guitar. Get a taste for what’s to come from CHICKABOOM! in the video below…
Tami Neilson's upcoming album 'CHICKABOOM!' is out Friday 14th February on Outside Music/Neilson Records.
