Weekly Roundup: Friday 10th January

We eased into 2020 this week with a bevy of fresh tracks and more than just a smidgeon of event announcements to keep you hyped about the year to come. International announcement highlights included South Carolina death metal masters Nile are teaming up with UK "Kings of Slam" Ingested to bombard local punters with their sonic onslaught in Auckland and Wellington this April, and Queens-based club experimentalist Eartheater is playing an unmissable Tāmaki Makaurau headline event in late January, brought to you by Community Garden. On the local artist front, Canterbury bedroom-pop hero Pickle Darling is embarking on his first ever national tour in March, Pōneke's Oh Sweet Nothings are embarking on a red-hot North Island tour this summer to celebrate the recent release of their Emergency Procedures EP, and Ōtepoti hardcore crew Swallows Nest kicked off their summer tour of Aotearoa last night, marching onwards to Dunedin and Christchurch this weekend.

They'll be hitting Aotearoa like a tonne of bricks this month with headline events at Pōneke's San Fran and Tāmaki Makaurau's The Studio, supported at both gigs by Singapore grindcore bruisers Wormrot.
