New Show Announced For Blind Boy Paxton New Zealand Tour
US bluesman Jerron "Blind Boy" Paxton returns to Aotearoa this summer for an extensive nationwide tour, taking the venerated singer and multi-instrumentalist to the four main centres and headline dates in Tauranga, Hawkes Bay, Queenstown and Nelson. Acclaimed by The Wall Street Journal as "virtually the only music-maker of his generation – playing guitar, banjo, piano and violin, among other implements – to fully assimilate the blues idiom of the 1920s and '30s, the blues of Bessie Smith and Lonnie Johnson," Paxton will round off his local musical travels with a newly announced gig at Paekakariki's St. Peters' Hall in mid-February.
