Ptwiggs New Zealand Shows Announced For March

Ptwiggs New Zealand Shows Announced For March

C.C. / Thursday 30th January, 2020 11:50AM

Sydney electronic artist Ptwiggs is heading to Aotearoa in March, tearing up the club at Tāmaki Makaurau's Whammy Backroom alongside local stars k2k, Half Queen and Totems, and treating Pōneke punters to a pumping MESH-curated rager at Valhalla, and a booming early evening set at Newtown Festival. Organiser of darkness-loving experimental club night / independent imprint Eternal (who've recently presented events featuring Eartheater and Dinamarca), Ptwiggs has unleashed her visceral, industrial-inflected sonics in such fearlessly adventurous contexts as Dark Mofo and Unsound, and released late last year Darkening of Light – the artist's second EP "exploring concepts of pre-determinism, fatalism and the influence of the Ancient Chinese divination system, the I Ching." Experience Ptwiggs live at the dates below...

Press release:

Hailing from Sydney, Australia. Ptwiggs aka Phoebe Twigg is no stranger to the experimental music scene, A qualified Audio Engineer who runs a label and club night Eternal. Ptwiggs has performed both internationally and locally for the likes of Unsound & Dark Mofo.

We are super excited to host Sydney-based electronic artist Ptwiggs for the next edition of MESH!

"Morphing audio into pulsing waves of emotion, Ptwiggs delivers a sound that is delicately detailed yet powerfully destructive, swinging between constant poles of tranquility and turmoil. Weaving an organically forming tapestry from the external and internal world, Ptwiggs smothers the senses leaving drippings of various genres, references and styles.

Ptwiggs released Darkening Of Light on November 22nd 2019 through UK indie heavyweight Label: Opal Tapes. This EP follows her debut EP Purge (2016) and 3-track RIP (2018). This 6 track EP has pushed the artist to new heights, obliterating boundaries and dissolving the line between ambient and club music. Darkening Of Light sees celestial vocals nested in a bed of droned out melodies and polyrhythmic drums."
