Brisbane's Requin Announce Debut Aotearoa Tour
Brisbane art-pop trio Requin, named for a glitching fish 'n' chip shop TV flickering between Deal Or No Deal and a French news report of "un attaque de requin" aka a shark attack, have announced their maiden voyage to Aotearoa. The fine folks at Papaiti Records are presenting the tour, seeing the group move non-stop (like a shark) through the North and South Islands for seven poptastic shows in less than two weeks, making stops in Pōneke for Newtown Festival and Whanganui to support Ingrid And The Ministers. Sitting pretty somewhere between Porches and American Football, Requin are a real treat for the ears, all melancholy guitar and math rock percussion. Keep an eye out for where you can spot them this March with a myriad of top-notch local supports, and nab your tickets below...

Press Release:
Papaiti Records are stoked to announce the very first NZ tour from Australia’s scintillating Requin. The art-pop band will play 7 dates across both islands, including the Newtown Festival, in early March.
Requin have been performing and writing together in Brisbane, Australia for 4 years. They found their name in the malfunctioning television of a local fish and chip shop. The screen was caught uncontrollably switching between Australian TV quiz ‘Deal or no Deal’ and a French news channel reporting a shark attack (un attaque de requin). The same frenetic tension and release can be heard in their intricate, hanging-on-every-word performances.
Some of the band’s accolades include spending several weeks on 4ZZZ's Top 20 with their debut EP The Noisy Miners Swoop Him and being ranked 5th Artist of the Year and 3rd Australian Artist Live Performance Of The Year by theMusic.com.au.
