Listen To Okilly Dokilly's Single 'Slaughterhouse'
Chances are you've seen cartoony posters about of a buff Ned Flanders tearing off his shirt surrounded by small army of weapon wielding Neds, advertising Simpsons-themed US metal maniacs Okilly Dokilly's debut Aotearoa shows this month. Whipping up even more excitement for the moustachioed "Nedal" riff-manglers' North Island headline gigs is unsparingly intense new single 'Slaughterhouse'. Originally recorded for the band's 2016 sophomore record Howdilly Twodilly, the song was omitted from the final release due to an incorrect Ned Flanders quote, as all Okilly Dokilly's lyrics are lifted directly (and accurately) from the show.
Band spokesman Head Ned explained, “Just before we sent the record to press, while doing an editorial check, I realized the quote was originally written down wrong... We immediately pulled it from the record. After a re-record in December of 2019, ‘Slaughterhouse’ was ready to go. ‘Slaughterhouse,’ at its core, is a song about gratitude, and us Neds sure do have a lot of gratitude for all the Neighborinos who came to our shows last year."
