
Kikagaku Moyo Share Double Single 'Gypsy Davey / Mushi No Uta'
Japanese drifters Kikagaku Moyo / 幾何学模様 have lifted the lid on two enchanting new psych-folk tunes for the Sub Pop Singles Club. The A-side is a lush, melody guitar-forward cover of traditional Scottish ballad 'Gypsy Davey', which tells a tale of a woman who runs away from wealth to live a happier life. Where the 7" really shines however is the magical second track 'Mushi No Uta'. Vocalists Go Kurosawa and Tomo Katsurada coo over soothing acoustic strings, morphing into an off-kilter crescendo of droning bass and electronic sounds before returning to plucked guitar, punctuated by Ryu Kurosawa's sitar.
