Watch Skilaa's Video For 'But I Do'

Skilaa bring their lush third single 'But I Do' back into earshot with a buzzy collage-in-motion clip created by Briar Prastiti, sister of Skilaa songwriter and vocalist Chelsea Prastiti. No strangers to genre-morphing, the visuals respond to the Tāmaki Makaurau outfit's patchwork of neo-soul, pop and RnB in a song about "having feelings that just won’t go away despite your best efforts". Flickering footage of fauna, flora, trippy overlays and green-screen tricks could reflect an unsettled mind fighting against its own thoughts. Stop-motion and mysterious sceneries were shot in Greece and Cyprus, where the Prastiti sisters both have relatives and a family history. At this stage, Skilaa are set to play the Waiheke Jazz, Art & Music Festival in April, so get to know their sound below and keep an eye on potential postponements or cancellations on the festival website...
