Live Photos: Swallow The Rat, M0ppy, Bitter Defeat - Nivara Lounge, Hamilton
Tāmaki Makaurau crew Swallow The Rat welcomed in the return of no holds barred live shows over the weekend, taking over Hamilton's Nivara Lounge with a raucous triple bill. The noisy four-piece were hit hard by the coronavirus outbreak, having their March US tour cut short just before their new album Leaving Room dropped, and guitarist Brian Purington being one of the first 500 Covid-19 cases in Aotearoa. Now back in ship-shape, the band made a triumphant return to the stage, supported by Thom Burton's (Guardian Singles, SoccerPractise) solo project M0ppy and Hamilton locals The Bitter Defeat, and have already lined up another wicked night of rocking out in Auckland next month with M0ppy, Repairs and brand new band Memory Foam. The weekend's show marked another triumphant post-lockdown return, one of legendary hotshot photographer Ngamihi Pawa.
