Yumi Zouma Reveal Four 'Japanese Bonus Tracks'
Split between four cities, the Ōtautahi-formed Yumi Zouma team have come together (digitally) to share a run of previously obscure tracks, once exclusive to the Japan editions of LPs Yoncalla and Willowbank. On their latest album Truth Or Consequences, the band's work took on a new brighter, dynamic and pop-forward sound, and these bonus songs will transport you back to the Yumi Zouma of 2016 / 2017. 'Souvenir', 'Velachery', 'Throwing Smoke' and 'Simplify' are almost coy, with singer Christie Simpson's breathy vocals sometimes disappearing into the spacey, atmospheric synth and reverb. The collection was released in time for Juneteenth, for which all Bandcamp sales were donated to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. Close your eyes and take yourself back four years...
