Listen To Roy Montgomery's 'Aspiratory (For Mark Hollis)'

Annabel Kean / Tuesday 23rd June, 2020 10:41AM

More than a year on from the death of Talk Talk frontman Mark Hollis, Roy Montgomery (The Pin Group, Dadamah, Dissolve) is still grieving. Each of these songwriters have a taste for high energy rock music, and moody, bone-shaking organs and synths, and Montgomery's tribute to the British pop explorer is no exception. 'Aspiratory' was quietly uploaded to Montgomery's YouTube channel with a thumbnail of Germany's Cologne Cathedral, which does a surprisingly effective job transforming the humble Omnichord into enormous pipe organs in your head. Press play below, and while you're at it, explore the dozen tracks Roy Montgomery has squirrelled away on YouTube in the past two months, including his tribute to Florian Schneider of Kraftwerk and a cover of Joy Division's 'Day Of The Lords' you can hear below...
