Listen To Steve Cournane's Album 'Percussion Music For Apartment Dwellers'

Chris Cudby / Thursday 13th August, 2020 11:10AM

Tāmaki residents are currently staring down the barrel of at least two more days at home at Alert Level 3, so why not lean into it and enjoy multi-instrumentalist Steve Cournane’s (Alpaca Brothers) domestic-themed latest collection Percussion Music For Apartment Dwellers — which has just been released on limited edition cassette via the champs at Arcade Recordings. Venturing beyond kaleidoscopic percussion workouts into psychedelic, abstract funk and free-form territories before looping back to song on closer ‘Andrina’, the eight track album features guest contributions from John Bell and tracks recorded in tribute to recently departed Snapper frontman Peter Gutteridge and Bruce Morley. Just the thing to help appreciate or even amplify cube-dwelling lifestyles with fresh sonic perspectives, word has it there’ll (hopefully) be an August release event for the cassette on the cards at Arcade Recordings headquarters The Wine Cellar. Open your ears to the intricate details of Percussion Music For Apartment Dwellers here…

‘Percussion Music For Apartment Dwellers’ is available digitally and on limited edition cassette, order yours via Bandcamp here or grab an in-store copy at Flying Out.
