Yumi Zouma Announce 'Truth Or Consequences (Alternate Versions)' + Share Single

Split between New York, London and Pōneke, long time physically distanced band Yumi Zouma aren't ready to move on from their album Truth Or Consequences, the group's third full length LP, that dropped in March this year. When the four-piece came together from their corners of the world to embark on a sold-out US album release tour, they were stopped short by Covid after just one show. Unable to celebrate the culmination of two years worth of songwriting and recording, Yumi Zouma aren't letting go just yet, flipping the bad news on its head by using this as a chance to dive deeper into the record, exploring the nooks and crannies of every track and releasing an entire alternate version of Truth Or Consequences. All ten re-imaginings will be out October 28th, and today we get to hear a stripped back rendition of closing track 'Lie Like You Want Me Back', complete with a gorgeous, studio-set video, with lyrics front and centre. This new version hits different, and hits closer to home — if you're not welling up by the bridge, the sample of Janet Frame reciting her poem Scarlet Tanager, Saratoga Springs will do the trick...
