Lontalius Announces New Album + Shares Title Track 'Someone Will Be There For You'

I wasn't expecting to be crying into my coffee quite so early this morning, but that's often the way whenever Eddie Johnston unveils a heart-melting song as Lontalius. The prodigious Pōneke songwriter's latest single 'Someone Will Be There for You' is an irresistible weepy banger setting the scene for a new album of the same name, launching in two parts in late October and the first half of 2021. Also beloved for his electronic work as Race Banyon, Lontalius' forthcoming third studio long player is the first to be produced by the multi-talented artist — following 2019's All I Have where he worked alongside Grammy Award winning production heavy hitter Om’Mas Keith (Frank Ocean, Erykah Badu) and a recent collaborative EP with Japan's Singular Balance.

Lontalius opened up how he conveyed big feelings on his new record: “I’ve spent so many weeks of my life feeling like there is nothing and no one out there, feeling like the weight of the world was on my own shoulders. But it’s true, someone will be there for you!

Musically this song felt so simple and it’s message so direct that I couldn’t overload it. I kept the instrumentation as simple as possible. Acoustic instruments recorded in an old 70s studio.”

Lontalius' album 'Someone Will Be There for You' launches in two halves on Friday 23rd October and in the first half of 2021.
