PollyHill Unveils Single 'Spooky' + Nosferatu-esque Video
Annabel Kean / Friday 11th September, 2020 9:50AM
In the throes of lockdown PollyHill blew the dust off a half-formed track, and sparked a collaboration with Dera Meelan and Alexa Casino that became 'Spooky', her first drop since EP Greatest Hits. The new single, fitted with the usual witty bars and not-so-usual blood curdling screams, sees PollyHill's music video directional debut — co-directed with Freya Finch — nothing too far from Paloma Schneideman's skill set as an NZIFF award winner. Drawing from vintage horror cinema, the Tāmaki rapper melds genre worlds to create a mini Nosferatu, swapping out creaking '20s organs for 2020 beats and her own haunting, husky vocals. Catch PollyHill live at festivals Rhythm & Vines and Soundsplash this summer, and catch the Super 8mm version here...
