Diggy Dupé Drops Video For 'New Devils' Ft. SWIDT + Dre Skrila

Annabel Kean / Thursday 1st October, 2020 11:27AM
One month on from dropping his exceptional full length album That's Me, That's Team, Tāmaki talent Diggy Dupé shares a high-spec flex video for monster track 'New Devils'. The song and visuals pull Dupé and collaborators SWIDT into the glitzy world of rappers posing under blinding lights with cars worth more than an Auckland house deposit, playing with the "the issues that come with success" that 'New Devils' tackles. But don't go thinking Dupé has sold out, director Connor Pritchard's smoke and mirrors drop to reveal a relatable reality, featuring Instagram comedian Dre Skrila bringing the team hurtling back to the real world. Scroll down for the clip, and see where you can catch one of Diggy Dupé's North Island album release shows after these words from the man himself...

"The song itself is tough, so I wanted the twist at the end to lighten it up. It’s like us showing people, hey we can do all that fancy car flexing type of videos and whatnot, but at the end of the day that’s not really us, we’re the blue-collar people. I feel like it’s an honest reflection of ourselves because, to be honest, if you see a fancy car in my video it’s definitely not mine haha!"
