Green Grove Shares New Album 'Of Isthmus'
Green Grove returns from a lockdown spent tucked away in Whangaruru, Northland with a new collection of dreamy, sleepy soundscapes. Of Isthmus is Green Grove's sophomore release, the first being their bubbling debut Machine Music which was unveiled to hot reception in September last year. This new offering was crafted and recorded solo by Green Grove life force Durham Fenwick (New Gum Sarn, Bozo, Guardian Singles), giving Of Isthmus a distinctly introverted appeal. Fenwick takes his time on each track, with only 'For Nink' dipping below the five minute mark by a second or two, and the space allowed between flurries of bells, bubbles or clicks gives your ears a chance to adjust to each new world as it comes. While there's a hint of loneliness in Of Isthmus, the album's sense of exploration outweighs the sadness, and it's hard to feel sad when a song like 'Bubbz' takes you on a gentle journey under the sea. Listen to the new Green Grove for a moment of peace and clarity...
Green Grove's 'Of Isthmus' is out now via Sunreturn.
