O & The Mo Share Dreamy Debut Album 'In Transit'

Hunkered down for a North Nelson winter, in a studio earth-built into Delaware Bay, dream-pop pair O & The Mo recorded their debut album In Transit. Out today, the usually Pōneke-based duo of Olivia Gallagher (O) and Alvin Bartley (The Mo) present a luxurious collection of lush tunes with a hint of the psychedelic. Rhythm section Hugo-Olsen Smith and Josh Brown stayed put and sent their bass and drum parts to Nelson from across the Strait in a locked down Aotearoa. Half way into In Transit, O & The Mo serve up three delicious tracks in a row: 'Honey', 'Peaches' and 'Pistachio Moon', one of many clues that Gallagher and Bartley have a fondness for the surreal and indulgent. Look only to their fantastical music videos and Gallagher's ethereal vocals for an audio / visual trip to somewhere extraterrestrial. The band provided some insight into the recording process:

“We recorded and produced the album over a focused period of 3 months, which gave us an opportunity to immerse ourselves in the recording process, capture our environment and refine our sound. For us, the album is a reflection on the constant state of motion, with a common thread through these songs being to slow down, find calmness and act on your values.”

Take your seat on the Moeing 747, settle in for a cruisy transit, and see below for when and where you can touch down for the live experience...
