This summer's wonderful Girls Rock! Tāmaki Makaurau commenced on Monday, helping "young women, transgender and gender-non-conforming youth (12-17) form bands, build instrumental skills, and write original songs" in a safe, supportive space. To ensure the week-long programme of workshops and classes keeps thriving long into the future, Girls Rock! Tāmaki Makaurau have organised a special fundraiser event, showcasing exceptional artists from throughout Aotearoa's music community who've generously shared their time and knowledge with our next generation of superstars. Performing at Whammy Bar this coming Friday will be fruit juice parade, Francisca Griffin (of Look Blue Go Purple), Earth Tongue, THEIA and DJ AW B, with all funds to be donated to aid the work of Girls Rock Camp.
