Jay Clarkson & The Containers Unveil Single / Video 'Far'
Flying Nun alum Jay Clarkson (The Expendables, Breathing Cage) steps into 2021 with a grab bag of treats for fans. The Southern songwriter has revealed a swanky new single and video, three gigs on the horizon (so far), the forthcoming launch of a brand new album titled Falling Through via Powertool Records, and the imminent re-release of her 1999 solo record KINDLE courtesy of Melbourne imprint Rose Hobart. Filmed by fellow local music legend Paul Kean (The Bats, Toy Love, The Sundae Painters) and edited by Sam Clarkson, the DIY visuals for 'Far' capture quiet moments, contemplating nature's mysteries and holographic sheep. Stretching time into taffy with gently psychedelic guitar jangle and a motorik pulse, the poetic tune was recorded with Dunedin all-stars The Containers, whose membership includes Mike Dooley (Snapper, Toy Love, Pop Up Toasters), Alan Haig (David Kilgour & The Heavy 8s, The Chills, Verlaines) and Tenzin Mullin (Suka). Soak up the splendour and mark these dates in your digital diary...
