Cuticles Unveil Debut EP 'Acquaintances Or' + Video

Chris Cudby / Thursday 11th February, 2021 9:54AM

Having announced themselves to the world last month with their singalong anthem 'Cheese In My Brain', Oamaru's excellently named Cuticles return to deliver the goods on their scuzzy and snazzy debut collection Acquaintances Or. Sporting the aforementioned relatable banger alongside three fresh tunes, Cuticles' EP is an ace showcase for guitarist / singer Matthew Plunkett's (The Trendees) storytelling talents, set against a toe-tappin' noise-pop racket whipped up by bandmates Austen Mcmillian (also of The Trendees), Lisa Preston and Tom Havard — with Preston taking over songwriting / singing duties on fuzzy stomper 'Werewolf Woman'. Every song's a winner, who can resist lines like "I am a goat / I am a chicken / I am a daisy herd" in farm-themed closing track 'Mr Jones'? Bask in the majesty and take in the brand spanking DIY video for the title track below...
