Punk It Up V Postponed To March 2021
While Aotearoa has been one of the few places in the world where gigs can happen relatively unrestricted in the age of Covid, live event planning has still been a bit of a moving target, as proven by this week's surprise three day lockdown in Auckland. With the super city now sitting at Alert Level 2 until this coming Monday at least, this weekend's scheduled Punk It Up V extravaganza has unavoidably been required to adapt again and postpone until a later date. Originally set to take place at Galatos tonight and this coming Saturday, NZ's premier celebration of punk rock and ska has happily found a new home at The Powerstation, bringing the ruckus over two nights in early March. The organisers shared these words on the postponement...
"PUNK IT UP V Moves Yet again!
There's an old saying, Go Big or Go Home
Well, seeming that punks are known for being the last to go home, Punk It Up are pleased to announce they're GOING BIG
Due to the unforeseen postponement of the event on Feb 19 and 20 due to the government's COVID restrictions, PIU have managed to book The Powerstation on Friday March 5 and Saturday March 6 in order to put on the weekend of shenanigans.
Most of the bands, including The Plague, No Tag, X-Features, Sit Down In Front and bankRobbers (and many special guests) have been able to adjust their schedules to be able to play on these new dates, at this super new venue, and we hope current ticket holders can adjust their schedules too.
All current tickets are valid for the new dates, and Under The Radar will continue to sell tickets for this two-night spectacular, almost up until the first power-chord!
We've also managed to make sure we'll have information and merchandise booths, as well as band merchandise etc, and it looks like we'll also be able to have an after party as well.
More details as they come to hand or get confirmed, but we thought letting you know asap was a good idea.
UP THE PUNX!"
