Watch Lou'ana's Debaucherous Clip For 'Wolves'

Annabel Kean / Wednesday 3rd March, 2021 11:53AM

I am obsessed with Lou'ana's aesthetic of soft-focus, '60s soulstress dreaminess, so my morning was greatly improved seeing another single from her debut album Moonlight Madness got the Anna Rose Duckworth video treatment. 'Wolves' is the sixth single from her 2020 LP and drips with the same lush bass lines and cigarette vocals she's becoming known for, matched with some velvety Eyes Wide Shut level mystic visuals. Made with support from NZ On Air, the story takes place over an evening of masquerade black jack and a bit of symbolic apple eating, which eventually descends into what I can only explain as a full blown fruit orgy. Lou'ana's explanation of the video honestly raises more questions than answers:

"Four creatures, faces hidden by geometric masks, are playing black jack and betting their all. They are fuelled by the highs of temptation and are up against the powerful, strategic wolf. Who will win? The powers hidden behind the mask don’t always have our best interests at heart. The dangling of apples before us can steer us away from our own power – beware!"

Groove along to 'Wolves', but don't think too hard about what you're about to see...

Lou'ana's debut album 'Moonlight Madness' is out now digitally and on vinyl via Rageous Records.
