Ever-adventurous Pōneke imprint Sonorous Circle seem to be having a productive streak, launching late last week a filmic new album from Paperghost along with RIB, a collection of instrumental soundtrack works by label helmsman Thomas Arbor (ex-I.Ryoko). Originally created to accompany Katrina George's dance-theatre piece of the same name in 2017, RIB is re-presented as six audio tracks to consider divorced from the physical realm, calling to mind current initiatives to shine the spotlight on a different kind of "dance music" such as Music From Memory's superb Music For Dance & Theatre series. RIB journeys through lush, evocative ambience with a definite rhythmic heft to tunes such as 'Party' and 'Tricks Connect', while floating free on textural and somewhat spooky finale 'Closing House'. Listen up here and scroll downwards to experience Arbor's recent collection of Theatre soundtrack works, created between 2013 and 2018...
