Luke Buda Shares New Single 'Candy'
The Phoenix Foundation co-founder Luke Buda has generously brought enough 'Candy' for all to enjoy this Friday morning. The second official single revealed from Te Whanganui a Tara-based songwriter's first solo album in twelve years BUDA, 'Candy' is a heavenly dream-pop confection — drenched with gorgeously warm guitar tones and lyrics recalling halcyon days of young romance. Gearing up to tour nationwide with band this spring and currently conducting some highly engaging pop musical research over on his Twitter page, Buda has also just unveiled stylish visuals for 'Candy', created with Puck Murphy.
Buda opened up about his sparkling new offering: "It was a sincere attempt at making a generous and sweet sounding guitar-pop number... I tried to take my cynical cheese filter off and just allow myself to make something that felt nice and breezy. Once I had done that I ended up feeling like I had to subvert it at least a little bit, hence the dark robot voice."
