The solo project of singer / multi-instrumentalist Kelly Sherrod (Punches), Proteins of Magic announced herself to the world in a major way last month with her stunning debut album, preceded by a run of visually inventive self-made videos and standout Tāmaki live performances. Supporting Dimmer's nationwide tour of Aotearoa this summer and playing a high profile slot at The Others Way 2021, Sherrod has unveiled her latest visual masterpiece, a short film for the album's lead track 'Hopeful Symphony'. Silhouetted against blindingly bright fields of colour, a window-framed Sherrod performs expressionistic, angular dance movements in stark contrast to the song's luxurious sonics — as if to present the emotional core of 'Hopeful Symphony' in an ever-changing light.
