Watch LEAO Perform At 95bFM's Drive Island

With a hazy traffic light-hued sunrise on the distant horizon, it's little treats like 95bFM's Drive Island series that keep spirits high and outlooks positive, reminding us of a show-packed Tāmaki in our collective futures. The latest offering from the Ellen Melville Centre alumni is Tāmaki guitar crew LEAO, lead by songwriter and vocalist David Feauai-Afaese. It was around this time last year that LEAO took over Drive Island one fine November afternoon, performing tracks 'LO'U SEI E', 'PUA MALIU', 'AFIAFI' and '1000 FANTOMS' from their 2019 debut EP GHOST ROADS, released with Aotearoa collective Noa Records. Feauai-Afaese and his rhythm section labelmates (WhyFi. and Strangelove) put on a killer show, featuring a full blown, lie-on-the-ground bass solo in 'LO'U SEI E' and all 'round gorgeous band banter.
