Uncle Quentin Drops Pop Banger 'SPLIT ME OPEN' + Video

Uncle Quentin Drops Pop Banger 'SPLIT ME OPEN' + Video

Annabel Kean / Thursday 25th November, 2021 12:35PM

If you can look past the sexually explicit lyrics and the batshit, yoghurt-covered man in the homemade balaclava, the latest single from Melbourne / Aotearoa's Uncle Quentin is a touching song about loneliness and one man's search for intimacy. Although not quite as blatantly heart-felt as his co-writing credit for Marlon Williams' Silver Scroll nominated 'Dark Child', 'SPLIT ME OPEN' is its own a hyper-pop beast, made for belting out in the club while the strobe hides your tears. You'll be pleased to know that today's single lands with a clean version too, saving innocent ears from F-bombs but still overflowing with lyrics like "Bend me over and split me open". From what we've heard thus far on the 'SPLIT ME OPEN / BIG D NRG' double single (available on limited edition lathe cut), there's clearly an epic electronic pop album in our collective futures, with 10 Apocalyptic Classics due out in full  December 8th via Ōtautahi imprint Melted Ice Cream. Have a yucky sexy time with Uncle Quentin's latest audio / visual creation [content warning: strobe effects]...
