Beth Torrance Shares Debut Album 'Let’s Move To The Seaside And Never Feel Lonely Again'
Rising Tāmaki songwriting talent Beth Torrance unveiled her debut long player let’s move to the seaside and never feel lonely again on Friday, an intimate seven song collection inventively co-produced in collaboration with award-winning soundtrack composer Karl Steven (Supergroove). Case in point is opener 'i really really really really like u (II)', balancing acoustic guitar-led lushness and nimble lyricism with a DIY rustic vibe conjured by the background sound of rain outdoors. Stripped back yet subtly layered, Torrance brings fresh ideas to the record with tracks like 'imsosorry' emanating a love for raw emo-inflected songcraft that'd make the likes of Snail Mail or Lil Peep (RIP) take notice, while tunes like 'arson and stars' even gesture towards dream-pop. Don't miss Torrance touring Te Ika-a-Māui in March and April supporting Kendall Elise's Let The Night In album release tour, and scroll downwards to watch the self-made video for the title track...
