Listen To OV PAIN's New Album 'Kauri Island'
Reaping praise from The Wire for their genre-obliterating 2021 epic The Churning Blue Of Noon, Naarm (Melbourne)-based Aotearoa sonic voyagers OV PAIN have unveiled new long player Kauri Island. The duo of Renee Barrance and Tim Player describe their six track collection as "the product of an abundance of iso-time, a long 2020 winter in the sacred native rainforest of the Waitakere Ranges and their reoccurring desire to challenge their aesthetic selves." Created using synthesisers, drum programming and samples, the record's minimally titled dronescapes stretch out, compress and puncture temporal perception, constantly morphing in texture and tone. Engulfing this listener in sensations of vastness and remoteness, Kauri Island sounds designed to be felt at full body-shaking volume. Lucky Melbourne dwellers should go catch OV PAIN celebrating the album's release this Saturday 11th March at Nighthawks, supported by Noah Reynolds, Eves and Mount Trout...
'Kauri Island' is out now on limited edition 12" vinyl LP via Tender Collection, order HERE.
