Daniel Armstrong and The Monsoons Unveil Single / Video 'The Company'
Touring nationwide with five piece band The Monsoons in May, London born, Tāmaki-based songwriter Daniel Armstrong unveils a passionate garage-rock stomper, plus a DIY video made with Dwayne Daly and Vivianne Castro. The spooky title card and lyrics promise something ominous, but are contrasted with an upbeat backyard boogie, suggesting that the company we keep during such times can either make or break us (or is it the omnipotent company of outdated traditions that keeps us?).
"'The Company' is about why we put our trust in the powers that be, why we listen to people who hide behind outdated traditions, only to be screwed over time and time again. I actually wrote it a few years ago, but this kind of history loves to repeat itself so it’s still relevant." - Daniel Armstrong
