Watch There's A Tuesday's Video For 'Girl At Night’
Performing at Canterbury's The Single Fin Mingle Sumner Soirée tonight with Arthur Ahbez, There’s A Tuesday recently unveiled their relatable and thought-provoking single ‘Girl At Night’. Out via BENEE's imprint Olive, the four piece have today shared a '90s-inspired video for the song directed by Lucy Higgens, made with the support of NZ On Air — exploring the “well-known and all too familiar fear that we as females have experienced being out and alone at night time.” In a rose-tinted house, the group's Nat Hutton and Minnie Robberds repeat in a dreamy bedroom, “I don’t wanna be a girl at night”.
Such a thought and feeling crossed my own mind as I briskly walked through Auckland CBD last night (it was also chilly, to be fair), even as I crossed the street to avoid looming shadows ahead of and behind me. The band also walks down the middle of the road at night in their new video, as if it may feel even safer than on a sidewalk…
“We feel this is an experience that is universal amongst wāhine. We hope ‘Girl At Night’ can spread awareness about this and can spark conversations amongst any listeners. No one should have to be scared.” — There's A Tuesday
