Listen To Popstrangers' New Album 'In Spirit'
Reemerging following an eight year layover between official album releases, Aotearoa / London trio Popstrangers unveiled their third studio long player In Spirit late last week via Australian imprint Rice Is Nice (also home to Sarah Mary Chadwick and Donny Benét). Originating from demos written by Joel Flyger while "helping a friend on a remote property in Waingaro" in the Waikato District, a notably quiet time to reflect after nearly a decade based London, the atmospheric ten track record feels strung out yet stately on recent single 'Are Pigeons Doves?' and new numbers 'Ain't Got You' and 'Crack Track', unfurling waves of ragged guitar textures on 'Like Paper', 'No I.D.' and the slow-burning title track. An assured return from the team of Flyger, Adam Page and David Larson, hit play on In Spirit and watch new live footage of Flyger performing 'Are Pigeons Doves?' in Tāmaki Makaurau (looks to be SOAP bar), shot by Adam Page...
'In Spirit' is out now via Rise Is Nice — vinyl LP orders available HERE.
