Going Global Music Summit 2022 - Twenty New Speakers Announced

C.C. / Friday 26th August, 2022 4:02PM

Taking over Tāmaki Makaurau's Roundhead Studios on 2nd and 3rd September, twenty more speakers have been announced for the Going Global Music Summit. Special guests joining this year's lineup of industry experts sharing their own firsthand experiences and insights include Saturday's keynote speaker, Grammy Award winning Aotearoa producer Joel Little (Lorde, Taylor Swift, Sam Smith) and his manager Ashley Page (Jawsh 685, Navvy), who will be interviewed for the occasion by NZ On Air Music's Sarah Thomson.

Featuring keynote speaker multi-Grammy Award winning producer Che Pope, new international and local speakers announced for next weekend's boutique conference include Australian radio professionals Sam Wicks (Double J/ABC) and Jason Moore (Triple R, The Gasometer), publicist Chloe Melick (Inside Out PR), music lawyers Stephen King (Media Arts Lawyers) and Dan Chisholm (Mortlock McCormack Law), Pennie Black (Native Tongue Publishing, NZ), Tim Bern (music sharing company Disco), Theo Seffusatti (Warp Publishing, UK/NZ), Rachel Kelly (VP at Utopia Music), Benjamin James (GYROstream), Ashley Gay (Xelon Digital & Noisehive), Cary Caldwell (head of 212 Music Group), Maria Amato (CEO of Australian Independent Record Labels Association, chair of Madrid-based Worldwide Independent Network), Ant Healey (APRA AMCOS NZ), Jo Oliver (Recorded Music NZ), Cath Andersen (NZ Music Commission), Dean Cameron (Recorded Music NZ), Liz Diamond (Recorded Music NZ), and Alan Holt and Rebekah Ngatae from Outward Sound / NZ Music Commission.

"I think that, most importantly, you get to meet new people, and have conversations in person. When you bring people together it enables you to learn things that you can't necessarily learn online. Just having that human to human interaction is important and helps grow the music community in Aotearoa.”
 — Maggie Collins, Executive Director, Association of Artist Managers AU

“Going Global really impressed me as a quality opportunity, both as a delegate and as a performer. To have one on one meetings with great international delegates, in a situation where they don’t have hundreds of other people they are trying to see seems quite unique. It’s also unique to have showcases where the delegates will really see all the bands.” — Anthonie Tonnon
