Two New Awards Announced For Student Radio Network Awards 2022

Chris Cudby / Tuesday 6th September, 2022 9:39AM

Celebrating the amazingly diverse variety of local artists energising Aotearoa's airwaves with adventurous sounds each and every day, the Student Radio Network Awards are returning for the second annual edition on 19th November — brought to you by member stations 95bFM, Radio Control 99.4FM, Radio Active 88.6FM, RDU 98.5FM and Radio One 91FM, co-presented by NZ On Air and Naked PR. Organised with inclusivity in mind, this year's awards will be held "held in person, streamed live and simulcast on all five Student Radio Network stations," with the main ceremony to be happening in Ōtepoti at the University of Otago's Main Common Room. Two new awards join the burgeoning ranks for 2022, the Tohu Puoro o te reo Māori Award, "signalling the Student Radio Network's favourite song that features te reo Māori," and Outstanding Achievement in Broadcasting Awards for each of the five stations, "commending the creators of a piece of exemplary work that has featured on air, or online."

Scope out the list of categories plus eligibility information below — voting for the People’s Choice Award opens early October.

"We're stoked to announce Tohu Puoro o te reo Māori, celebrating our favourite songs in te reo Māori... It gives us another platform to showcase the incredible music being playlisted across the Student Radio Network." — Caitlin McIlhagga (95bFM's General Manager)
