How's your work week going so far? Aotearoa's Hans Pucket ensure there's 'No Drama' in the office or anywhere else this morning with the launch of the panoramic title track to their forthcoming second album, dropping in full via US imprint Carpark Records in November. An emotional rollercoaster crackling with brooding Antipodean gothic energy and uplifted to electrifying heights to a massive rock finale, 'No Drama' lyrically pushes against the temptation to get sucked into ever-present social media battles — manifesting a different kind of internal conflict, as vocalist / guitarist Oliver Devlin angelically sings at one point "I am a coward". The Trash Recital starring foursome of Oliver and Callum Devlin (Sports Team, Dateline), Jono Nott (Onono, Broods), and Callum Passells won't be hiding away anytime soon, as they've just announced a run of Australian dates happening this month as special guests for buds The Beths.

In a scenario some flame-stoking wags have likened to the infamous Blur vs Oasis battle of Britpop in 1995, Hans Pucket's new record drops on 4th November, the same date as the debut DARTZ album (as well as the latest long player from Amamelia, the Pulp in this half-baked analogy?) — although which local group is supposed to be which is up in the air. Launched on streaming services yesterday morning, today sees the release of a video for 'No Drama', showcasing shadowy autumnal footage shot all around leafy Tāmaki Makaurau, directed by Sports Team's Annabel Kean and made with support from NZ On Air— watch below...

"This song is about social anxiety and being surrounded by very unhappy people on the internet... Sometimes, of course, very rightfully hurt people are dealing with their experiences of injustice, inequality or trauma. I think part of the song is being overwhelmed by all of this, the desire to bury my head in the sand and the fear of who I could become if I did switch off from it all". — Oliver Devlin

'No Drama' releases on Friday 4th November via Carpark Records — preorder the vinyl LP edition of No Drama HERE, plus exclusive Flying Out colourway HERE.
