Listen To 'Outlier Festival 2022: New Electronic Music From Aotearoa' Compilation
The inaugural release from Audio Foundation Records (AFR), Outlier Festival 2022: New Electronic Music From Aotearoa is an ideal primer for this coming weekend's "multi-modal project platforming new electronic music from Aotearoa’s experimental and exploratory practitioners." Happening in a variety of Tāmaki Makaurau venues and spaces from 7th to 9th October, the festival's compilation is packed to the gills with convention-defying electronic tones and textures by artists from around the country — including P.H.F (previously unreleased track 'bitter'), Riki Pirihi (Cave Circles), Hasji (Noa Records), i.e crazy, Current Bias, Strange Stains, Nathan Taare (E N T), Synthetic Children, Ex-Partner and many more (seventeen tracks all up).
Out now online and on limited edition compact disc featuring album art by Tash van Schaardenburg, who co-compiled the collection with fellow festival artistic director Grace Verweij, Outlier Festival 2022: New Electronic Music From Aotearoa is not only an accessible introduction to practitioners performing this week, but also a crucial survey and celebration of our sonically boundless electronic underground community. Immerse your ears and head along...
