Kae Tempest New Zealand Shows Announced

C.C. / Thursday 27th October, 2022 3:18PM

Last here in Aotearoa just before 2020's first pandemic lockdown, UK poet / rapper / spoken word artist Kae Tempest will return in February 2023 for headline dates at Auckland’s Powerstation and Wellington’s St James Theatre. Nominated for the prestigious Mercury Prize for both 2016's Let Them Eat Chaos and 2014's Everybody Down, Tempest released their fourth studio album The Line Is A Curve in April of this year to significant acclaim — described as "a sentimental, prophetic, mimetic, and worldbuilding work that blends moody electronica with elements of neo-soul and grimey hip-hop" by Pitchfork, who noted their "linguistic instinct... is nearly peerless." A published poet, best-selling novelist and playwright, the multi-talented artist's live performances are not to be missed — catch Tempest at the following dates...

Press release:

KAE TEMPEST is one of the most unique, thought-provoking and overwhelmingly critically acclaimed voices of our times. Described by many as a polymath genius musician, songwriter, rapper, poet and playwright, they are truly an artist of a generation.

In support of their most emotionally resonant and compelling release to date, their fourth album The Line Is A Curve, we are delighted to announce that Kae Tempest will perform at Auckland’s Powerstation on Friday February 24th and Wellington’s St James Theatre on Sunday February 26th.
