With new album Looming, The Spindle out via Oliver Ackermann's (Death By Audio, APTBS) imprint Dedstrange and firmly entrenched within Berlin's 8MM community, Aotearoa goth / punks The Pleasure Majenta are hinting at a killer 2023 coming up. The group have unveiled a twenty minute short film documenting a teeth-gnashingly powerful and abrasive (yet also joyful to this viewer) Pleasure Majenta performance, shot on five cameras at a secret show within an industrial complex, recorded by Lazlo Hägner, then edited and post-produced by Holly Paynter for maximum immersive impact. "On the 14th July 2022 we, The Pleasure Majenta, and friends, organised a secret show where we recorded and filmed a live performance. Taking place in the Greenhouse (a once popular artist complex in an industrial area of Berlin), starting from sunset and finishing under a glaring full moon.

Footage from 5 perspectives were compiled then edited together by the amazing and talented Holly Paynter (who also crawled the floor clasping her camera at the show). Paynter's final cut is a visceral and immersive experience, a friend said it made them feel like you're really there watching the show. I'm not sure if that was the intention or Holly is just really good at translating a feeling, I'm sure it is the latter.
