Chris Cudby / Friday 16th December, 2022 2:22PM

Widely hailed as Canterbury's most vibrant artistic hub and home to numerous internationally beloved, locally bred sonic talents, the port town of Ōhinehau / Lyttelton will soon host the inaugural multi-venue Port Noise festival. Presenting a "diverse and well curated selection of musicians at the forefront of alternative music in Aotearoa" at The Loons, Civil and Naval, Wunderbar and LCC on 11th March, the lineup is presently under lock and key, but we've had an advance sneak peek and can confirm the bill is looking exceptionally high quality indeed. Here's the official lowdown...

"In Ōhinehau/Lyttelton on March eleventh come and enjoy a diverse and well curated selection of musicians at the forefront of alternative music in Aotearoa. These artist do not all share a common aesthetic or sound, rather a shared intention that informs and guides their craft.

PORT NOISE is a music festival where these artists gather. Though they come in many different forms, sounds and provoke many different feelings, it is our aim for both artist and audience to bask in the wild glory of this true telling of the self.

To dance completely unguardedly, to be moved in the most tender nook of your soul, and to be curious, challenged, and inspired."
