Press release:
HENRY ROLLINS FOUR-DATE NEW ZEALAND SPOKEN WORD TOUR ANNOUNCED FOR JULY 2023
Plus1 proudly announces Henry Rollins eagerly-anticipated return to New Zealand to perform four spoken word shows in July.
Henry Rollins’ brings his Good To See You tour to Christchurch, Wellington, Devonport and Auckland, with dates and venues as follows:
Wednesday 5 July - The Vic Theatre, Devonport
Thursday 6 July - SkyCity Theatre, Auckland
Friday 7 July - James Hay Theatre, Christchurch
Saturday 8 July - Old St Pauls, Wellington
The tour is proudly presented by Plus1, Under The Radar and 95bFM.
Ticket presale begins 9am Monday 13 February via Plus1.co.nz - with tickets on general sale from 9am Wednesday 15 February.
Rollins’ popular spoken word performances, or “talking shows,” mix political commentary and personal anecdote, humour, outrage, and pop culture, all with a healthy dose of scepticism.
For his first New Zealand tour in seven years, Henry Rollins recounts the events of his life in the pre-Covid period since the last tour, and when things got even stranger over the past year. It's been an interesting time to say the least and as always Rollins has some great stories to tell.
Henry Rollins has toured the world as a spoken word artist, as frontman for both Rollins Band and Black Flag and as a solitary traveller with insatiable curiosity, favouring road-less-travelled locales in places such as Nepal, Sri Lanka, Siberia, North Korea, South Sudan and Iran.
Entertainment Weekly describes Rollins as “Punk Rock icon. Spoken word poet. Actor. Author. DJ. Is there anything this guy can’t do?”
