Leonard Charles Shares 'Heaven' EP ft. Leroy Burgess, Guilty Simpson + More

Tamaki Makaurau multi-instrumentalist and production wiz Leonard Charles aka Jeremy Toy has reemerged with his new six track Heaven EP, launched late last week in a covetable 12" vinyl edition via California's CQQL Records. Laying down seriously infectious funk / boogie grooves on the title track, the multifaceted collection includes contributions from Toy's Leonard Simpson Duo collaborator Guilty Simpson, legendary godfather of "badass disco boogie" Leroy Burgess (a remix of their song 'Nine Lives'), Auckland's ineffably smooth A.C. Freazy (Alex Freer of Tiny Ruins), Bay Area R&B artist Zyah Belle and 'new oldies' crooner Reality Jonez.

Jeremy Toy and his Leonard Charles Trio bandmates Chip Matthews and Tom Broome will be moving the crowd this month for Ponsonby Social Club’s 15th Birthday Celebrations, joined by special guests Tyra Hammond and Bjorn Peterson (with a new Sami Sisters date waiting in the wings), plus he'll be reuniting with the legendary Opensouls for the venue's official Sunday bash on 26th March.
