Half/Time Announces UK Fundraiser Shows

The post-punk project of Kirikiriroa artist Wairehu Grant (Ngāti Maniapoto, Ngāti Tūwharetoa) with drummer Ciara Bernstein and bassist Cee (Te Rarawa, Ngāti Kahu ki Whangaroa), Half/Time have announced a pair of events raising funds towards the trio's excursion to the UK's FOCUS Wales 2023 showcase festival this coming May. They'll be performing at Tāmaki Makaurau's hub of all things cool The Vault on 24th March with Hagseed, Coffin Club and Sunskater, as well as the Waikato's Last Place on 31st March with buds Easy Off, Glass Shards and Skull Patrol. Show your love for some of Aotearoa's most talented rising artists by supporting these all-killer events — here's the official word from Half/Time outlining the kaupapa of the new project...

It is Half/Time's absolute honour to have been invited to perform at FOCUS Wales (Cymru) 2023.
FOCUS 2023 is an 'International Showcase Festival' that kicks off on May 4th in Wrecsam, Cymru that features not only 250+ artists from around the world, but an entire conference programme AND a film festival!
Our main focuses while in Cymru are to share our music with an international audience, to connect with indigenous speakers of Cymraeg (Welsh), and take part in a cultural exchange with those dedicating their lives to language and cultural revitalisation efforts.
On top of shows in Cymru, we are aiming to travel to Alba (Scotland) and England to play shows, connect with our respective Pākehā ancestry, and link up with Māori and Pasifika diasporic communities based in the so-called UK. However we do need to fundraise for this massive (and fast approaching!) journey ahead, so if you are able to contribute to our kaupapa we would be so grateful!
