MACEY Announces 'The Lovers' Auckland Album Release Show

Announced as part of the all-star showcase lineup for Going Global 2023, MACEY is launching his debut album The Lovers into the world next month, to be celebrated with a record release bash at Big Fan in Morningside alongside special guest Rita Mae. The new project of Tāmaki Makaurau songwriter / multi-instrumentalist Harry Parsons, the golden voiced artist has been on a productive streak over the past 12 months, unfurling not only the tantalising first half of The Lovers but also a sparkling run of singles including his breakout latest anthem 'Night Out' — dropped last month with a big-hearted dance video directed by Rachel Moyle (watch below). The full version of The Lovers is out on 15th, with vinyl LP preorders available as a ticket option for the release party — get in your orders and secure your spot for this strictly limited capacity soirée...

Join MACEY as he celebrates the release of his highly anticipated debut album ‘The Lovers’ (OUT 15 SEPT), with special guest RITA MAE.

‘The Lovers’ sees indie-pop/rocker ‘MACEY’ beaten and broken, pouring out his heart and cursing at the universe. Each single deals with a significant moment in his life over the past two years, navigating the constant change, highs, lows and heartbreaks along the way. Through soaring anthems and quiet, quirky acoustic ballads, MACEY begins to learn how to take the hits and flow with the change.

Rita Mae has had a big year, releasing her EP ‘Superfeeling’, touring Aotearoa with Gin Wigmore and opening for Broods.

She developed her own writing style after surrendering to a relentless desire for escapism through her music. After a stint in Dunedin collecting a degree in neuroscience, she returned to Auckland to immerse herself in learning music production, searching for her sound in the all-encompassing genre of contemporary indie pop. That discovered sound delivers a blend of genres and feeling, emotional lyrics combined with alternative pop production that will have you feeling everything all at once.
