Flaxxies Share Single 'Cast Me Away' + Touring New 'SUNSTRUCK' EP
Tāmaki Makaurau's Flaxxies are making big waves this spring, welcoming the warmer months ahead with a launch tour for their forthcoming debut SUNSTRUCK EP. Playing their first North Island headline tour in September, the five-piece collective follow up June's groove-heavy hit 'Snapped Up (By The Boss') with brand new foot-stomper 'Cast Me Away'. Produced by Tiki Taane (who recorded entirety of the EP), the energising anthem conversely reflects on feelings of stagnation that result when relationships grow cold, whipping up a firestorm of psych-infused guitars as frontman Benji Humphries assumes the Tom Hanks-like lyrical role of a lonesome island castaway. Sure to be sizzling on stage, go catch Flaxxies on their first North Island tour this September, head along to their summer gigs in Coromandel and Whangamata around New Years, and look forward to the full launch of SUNSTRUCK on 25th August...
“It’s been a long time coming, but we are fizzed to be hitting our first North Island tour this spring. We’ve got some of Aotearoa's finest up and coming talent on the card and we can’t wait to see you all there. ‘Cast Me Away’ for sure is a favourite to play live within the band. It has big energy and takes you on a bit of a journey, we hope everyone enjoys it.” — Benji Humphries

Later in the year, summer hot-spot festival performances are being lined up, with confirmed Coromandel Peninsula appearances at NYE’23 in Whitianga and BEACH BREAK in Whangamata.
