Clementine Valentine Unveil Single / Video 'Selenelion'
Gifting us spellbinding tune after tune since announcing their debut album as Clementine Valentine, former Purple Pilgrims Clementine and Valentine Nixon share their final audio / visual combo before The Coin that Broke the Fountain Floor launches next Friday via Flying Nun Records. Radiating luminous dream-pop / new age energy and mythic echoes inspired by moments of celestial syzygy, the video for ‘Selenelion’ depicts the pair performing their transcendent song onstage in Hong Kong (where they grew up) while drama plays out in the bustling streets. Embarking on a nationwide tour next month and performing with Roy Montgomery at Word Chch '23 in late August, the sibling duo will also soon be gracing the stage at September's star-powered two night Going Global Artist Showcase. Preorder your copy of their new record HERE and hit play on ‘Selenelion’ — directed by Britt Walton and made with support from NZ On Air...
"Selenelion is a type of lunar eclipse where both the sun and moon appear in the sky at the same time. As a story the song is based on aspects of countless old folk songs and fables. A star-crossed dynamic. The meeting of a mythological creature and a mortal, always ending in tragedy".
