Don McGlashan To Be Inducted Into The New Zealand Music Hall Of Fame
Paying tribute to groundbreaking Aotearoa musicians from 2007 onwards, APRA AMCOS NZ have announced Don McGlashan is this year's inductee into the New Zealand Music Hall of Fame. An iconic artist who would surely require little introduction for most local listeners, the composer, singer and multi-instrumentalist's award-winning career in music (and beyond) spans more than four decades, both with such legendary groups / collectives as The Mutton Birds, Blam! Blam! Blam!, The Front Lawn (subject of Matthew Bannister's new 33 1/3 Oceania book on their 1989 debut album), experimental pioneers From Scratch, and his own chart-topping solo work.
Embarking on a rapidly selling out nationwide tour with special guest Anita Clark aka Motte from this Saturday onwards, McGlashan will be inducted into the NZ Music Hall of Fame at the 2023 APRA Silver Scroll Awards presentation ceremony on 4th October at Tāmaki Makaurau's Spark Arena — joining the ranks of fellow inductees including Herbs, Dave Dobbyn, Moana Maniapoto, Toy Love, Bic Runga, Supergroove and The Clean...
